The future priorities of the EIP-AHA
In October the European Commission published a document (Staff Working Document - SWD (2018) 437 final dd. 09/10/2018), aiming to redefine the priorities that the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Aging will have to follow between now and 2020, year when the EIP-AHA mandate will expire.
During the two years to come, the indications derived from the mid-term review of the Digital Single Market Strategy implementation will need to be taken into account. On the basis of the Communication 2018/233 the European Commission set out its intention to take further action in three areas:
- citizens' secure access to and sharing of health data across borders;
- better data to advance research, disease prevention and personalised health and care;
- digital tools for citizen empowerment and person-centred care.
The “Digital Health”, as already announced in the "Blueprint" strategic document, launched in December 2016, will become one of the driving priorities of the EIP-AHA.
