Presentation of ALPSIB in Brussels
On 7 March, at the premises of the Brussels Office of Friuli Venezia Giulia, it has been held the press conference presenting the final results of the ALPSIB project. This is a project that promotes financial instruments for the social sector, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the "Alpine Space" program.
The project took into consideration two categories of people: young people not engaged in education, employment or training (NEETs) and the seniors, and promoted the spread of Social Impact Bonds. Private capital will be used to finance activities that generate social benefits.
The conference began with a video message from the Regional Councilor for work, training, education, research, university and family Alessia Rosolen and with a speech by Guglielmina Cucci, Councilor for European policies of the Municipality of Pordenone (project leader municipality), who emphasized the importance of these initiatives in terms of revitalizing mountain areas with a view that is more responsive to emerging social needs.
Several other speakers took part, including, Jan Mikolaj Dzieciolowski - member of the Cabinet of the European Commissioner for Cohesion Policy, Corina Cretu - and Georgia Efremova, a policy officer of the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission, responsible for the financial instruments sector and investments with a social impact.
This project was also presented in Milan at the Forum on Sustainable Finance held from 13 to 22 November 2018.
