European Week of Regions and Cities ( EWRC )

The 17th edition of European Week of Regions and Cities will take place in Brussels  from the 7th to the 10th of October. It is the biggest communication platform on cohesion policy through which representatives of Regions and Cities will have the possibility to exchange best practices and  technical expertise in the field of regional and urban development.  During these days more than one hundred of events will be organized. They will be focused on three macro-areas:

  • The Future of the EU and the roles of Regions and Cities,
  • A Europe Closer to Citizens
  • A greener Europe

We highlight in particular the following seminars focused on social and health needs,  which could  also be linked to the topic of Active and Healthy  Ageing

On 8 ottobre: The Big Data Revolution for Public Health (16:30-19:00)

On 9 October:

Health Policy Making, a (eu-)regional perspective on participatory approach (9:15-10:45)

Sport for active and healthy communities (09.15-13.00)

The SDGs for a Healthy Social Europe- time for partnership and innovation (9:15-13:00)

Healthy ageing in cities and regions: inspiring examples to frame the future (11:30-13:00), the eventi is organized in collaboration with EU Covenant for demographic change and the Joint Action Advantage

On 10 october:

Community based model for better mental health – thinking globally acting locally ( 9:30 – 10:00)

The role of social innovation in addressing social challenges (09.30-10.30)

European Pillar of Social Rights as a framework for a sustainable economy (11:30 – 13:00)
